Minister of Finance and Industry Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al-Maktoum received
yesterday Michel Camdessus, head of the International Monetary Fund.
During the meeting, they reviewed the international economic situation, the
efforts exerted by the International Monetary Fund to filling the gas shortage
affecting the economy of the third world countries, especially the Asian
countries, which lately suffered great economic losses which had a negative
impact on the international economy.
Sheik Hamdan also reviewed the effects of the reduction of prices in the
international markets on the economies of the petroleum-exporting countries,
especially the effects on development plans.
